The Cotton Association of India (CAI) has maintained its September estimate for the cotton crop at 365 lakh bales of 170 kg each for the season 2017-18 ending September 30, 2018. The estimate has continued with the same level as in the previous month. Further, CAI has estimated the shipment of cotton up to September 2018 at 69 lakh bales.

Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Co (SIDPEC) has got the license for Unipol PP Process Technology by W R Grace, the leading independent supplier of polyolefin catalyst technology and polypropylene (PP) process technology. Leading Ukrainian textile fabric seller and producer Textile-Kontakt Group plans to invest up to 100 million Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) in 2019 in a new fabric-manufacturing unit in Chernihiv. UAH 30 million will be invested this year as the company is scheduled to open in December. The annual capacity of the plant will be 2-3 million meters of fabric.

A steady growth in China’s e-commerce sector continues as online shops further integrate with physical stores, according to 100ec.cn, which said new retail and social e-commerce have become the driving forces for the boom. Sonoco, a diversified global packaging company, has taken over the remaining 70-per cent interest in the joint venture of Conitex Sonoco, a vertically integrated company manufacturing paper-based cones and tubes for textile industry. The Conitex Sonoco joint venture was formed in 1998 between Texpack and Sonoco’s former North America textile cone business.
Texpack is a Spanish-based global provider of paper-based packaging products.
Sonoco acquired the remaining 70-perc
