The leather-shoe industry posted high growth last year but experts at a seminar in HCMC on Monday urged a restructuring of the sector to help address its shortcomings and improve its export performance in the longer term.

The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex), one of the largest Vietnamese companies, has shown interest in setting up its textile and garment factory in Moscow, Denis Butsayev, Moscow region’s Minister of Investments and Innovations, said after a meeting with Vinatex representatives, reports Interfax news agency.
According to the Minister, Vinatex would like to set up its textile and apparel factory in the suburbs of Moscow.

Country’s textile exports have shown 30 per cent increase after getting the status of GSP Plus from the European Union, President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Dr Shimail Daud said here on Tuesday.
“During the first two months of this year, the textile exports have shown 30 per cent increase whereby earning an additional amount of foreign exchange to the tune of $ 105 million,” Dr Shimail said while talking to a delegation of traders and businessmen.
