Paramount Apparel is scheduled to begin production in Ellington as soon as next week, bringing up to 80 new jobs.
Paramount was founded in 1929 in St. Louis as Paramount Cap Manufacturing and moved its headquarters to the southern Missouri town of Bourbon seven years later.

After undertaking an in-depth programme of market research and interviews with stakeholders in various sectors, the organizers of the Yarn Expo fairs have decided that Yarn Expo Spring will now be held in Shanghai starting in 2014, and will take place from 3 – 5 March.
The fair will be relocated to the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, alongside Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, while the autumn edition will remain unchanged.

Prince George wearing a shawl knitted by G H Hurt on a Stoll machine
British knitwear manufacturer G H Hurt & Son manufactured the shawl used to wrap HRH Prince George of Cambridge in when he left hospital last week.
The shawl was manufactured using a Stoll flat knitting machine, according to Stoll.
G H Hurt is known for manufacturing delicate scarves and high quality blankets, mainly for ladies and babies.

Government orders regarding the supply of gas to textile mills during 10-hour periods of outages have been partially implemented but supplies at many places could not be streamlined partly due to resistance from gas distribution staff.
Sources in the SNGPL said staggered supplies will ensure that the mills operate 24 hours a day. The mills will use Pepco load for 14 hours and produce their own power through gas during the 10-hour outages.

Bangladesh's Eastern Refinery Ltd will skip exporting naphtha in October, for the third straight month, as plant maintenance and repair work continue, a senior company official said on Tuesday.
On average, it exports one 170,000-barrel naphtha cargo about every 45 days.
