A new apparel manufacturing factory is all set to begin production during the next few days in the war-ravaged region of Kilinochchi, in Northern Province of Sri Lanka.
This would be the first garment factory to commence operation under the Uthuru Wasanthaya (Northern Spring) programme of the Sri Lankan Government.

The delay in arrival in market of remaining of cotton crop due to farmers holding back their crops coupled with low production and yarn mills going for bulk purchase of Cotton in the last leg of season, has resulted in rise in Cotton prices in past few days.
