The September US benzene contract price was settled US cents 40 down at US cents 420 a gallon in line with market expectations. However, US spot was assessed down in the last week of August. Europe benzene prices may go up on firm prompt supply and good styrene demand and on support of low August numbers.

A theatre in Cumbria has reopened following a major revamp.
The ?220,000 project at the Carnegie Theatre in Workington included new sound and lighting systems, and additonal removable seating.
There were also repairs to the roof and external fabric of the building, and the auditorium and dressing rooms were redecorated.
It was funded by a grant from the Coalfield Regeneration Trust, and Allerdale Borough Council.

The western Indian state of Maharashtra has attracted investments totaling Rs. 24 billion under its new textile policy announced earlier this year, state Textiles Minister Naseem Khan has said.
Eight textile processing companies, including Ginni International Ltd., Jaideep Group of Industries, Oswal Spinning and Weaving Mills Ltd, Shyam Indospin Ltd. and Jindal Poly Films Ltd., have submitted their Letters of Intent to invest in the cotton-producing regions of the state, the Minister said.
