Foreign and local investors, who shut down the garment factories in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone ( DEPZ) at Savar, 25 km west of Dhaka, following a fresh bout of workers violence on Saturday, have decided to reopen their factories on Thursday.
The local and foreign owners of 92 textile factories in the DEPZ made the decision after having detailed talks about the security of their life and property in the park with the new chairman of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones (BEPZ).

DHAKA (AFP) - Foreign investors shut down their factories near Bangladesh's capital Dhaka after thousands of textile workers staged fresh walkouts over low wages amid government calls for calm, officials said.

THE yuan's appreciation has boosted China's imports, but has hurt its exports, said Bo Xilai, the Minister of Commerce, according to the ministry's official Website today.
