To avert skin tearing among aged persons, CSIRO, a study group financed by Australian Wool Innovation has come up with a new medicinal fabric.
Robin Cranston team leader of the CSIRO's Textile and Fibre Technology said aged persons are highly vulnerable to skin tears.
The latest wool and lycra fabric innovated by CSIRO guards limbs against injuries and can be worn during all seasons.
Due to ageing, skin develops drying and loses flexibility, according to Robin.

Vietnam needs to invest three billion U.S. dollars in its garment and textile industry from now to 2010, local newspaper People's Army reported Tuesday.
Of the money, over 2.27 billion dollars will be spent on weaving and dyeing projects, 443 million dollars on garment ones, about 200 million dollars on manpower training, and some 180 million dollars on developing textile and garment materials, the paper quoted sources from the country's Industry Ministry as saying.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States will soon sign a deal paving the way for Vietnam to join the World Trade Organization, despite U.S. textile industry protests, a top U.S. trade official said on Monday.
